The CFA credential is recognized as a global symbol of integrity and excellence throughout the investment industry. The CFA Charter is awarded to investment professionals who demonstrate professional, educational and ethical excellence.
Core elements of the CFA curriculum include investment tools (e.g. economics, financial statement analysis, quantitative analysis), asset valuation, ethical and professional standards and portfolio management. The exam has a pass rate of only about 50 percent at each level, on average — meaning that only about one out of five candidates who enter the program ultimately complete it successfully and earn the CFA charter. Each exam requires a recommended 250 hours of intensive study and preparation.

(CFP® Board), which can help you identify financial planners who are committed to competent and ethical behavior when providing financial planning. Individuals certified by the CFP® Board have taken the extra step to demonstrate their professionalism by voluntarily submitting tot he rigorous CFP® certification process that includes demanding education, examination, experience and ethical requirements. A CFP® certificate must obtain 30 hours of continuing education every two years in the body of knowledge pertaining to financial planning areas such as estate planning, retirement planning, investment management, tax planning, employee benefits and insurance.
